To use your own official domain name (ex. http://www.bandname.com) instead of your FourFour URL (ex. http://bandname.fourfour.com), you need to purchase our "Go Official" premium feature. "Go Official" lets you use your own domain and removes all outside advertising from your website.
REGISTER YOUR OWN DOMAIN NAME
If you haven't done so already, now's the time to register your official domain name (ex. bandname.com). You do that using services provided by a domain registration company ("domain name registrar"), such as GoDaddy. Click here to register your domain name with GoDaddy.
UPGRADE TO "GO OFFICIAL"
To upgrade to "Go Official", you must first go to your Official URL page and, if it's not already there, enter your official domain name's full web address in the "Official URL" field (ex. http://www.bandname.com). After saving your official domain in FourFour, go to your Account page. In the "Premium Features" section, click the "Add to Cart" button to the right of "Go Official". You'll be redirected to PayPal where you can complete payment using your PayPal account or credit card. After making payment, you'll be returned to FourFour and the new feature will be activated. On your Account page, you'll now see a green check mark in the "Active" column for "Go Official" as well as the date of your payment.
After upgrading to "Go Official", you can map your existing FourFour website to your own domain name by updating your A Records. Your A Records are settings in the Internet's Domain Name System (DNS). You can create and/or modify your A Records via your domain name registrar (ex. GoDaddy or Network Solutions) - the company with whom you registered your domain name.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Sign in to your domain name registrar account, and go to the DNS management page. A Records may be in sections such as DNS Management or Name Server Management. You may have to enable advanced settings to create A Records. Please contact your registrar directly if you can't locate the A Records management options.
That's it. Your A Records are now configured to point to FourFour. Keep in mind these changes to your DNS settings may take up to 48 hours to propagate throughout the Internet.
