Back from Brazil - On To The Pacific Northwest!

Back from a fantastic tour of Brazil where RR & DRK performed to almost 40,000 fans - old and new.  What a wonderful experience!  Encores, sometimes two - for all shows!  The band incinerated these crowds - and what great audiences!!

The first festival was in a mountain village settled by Italians called Santa Teresa, near Vitoria, about 7 hours north of Rio. The second festival was in an historic village on the gorgeous Costa Verde coast, called Paraty - a stunning old cobblestone town founded in the 1500's (!). Then it was on in to the interior to Nova Lima, near Belo Horizonte - where the band got to meet the Mayor with his beautiful daughters - fun!  Nice photo op ladies!! :)  The last festival, where the band performed twice - was the 10th year celebration of Rio Das Ostras, near Buzios (a village Brigitte Bardot made famous) - also on the coast.  The fans waited for hours to see Roy and the band at this festival -  and in spite of the rain - held their own with thousands of dancing umbrellas!  What a sight!  We thank our presenters and producers -  Manfra, Stenio and also Junior - for taking great care of us and we look forward to returning to Brazil.  (We will post Facebook photos and videos soon - and there are already quite a few IPhone type videos posted on some of these performances.) 

Now it's on to the Pacific Northwest.  This week-end RR &DRK perform in the wine country in the Cloverdale Plaza (22nd); then on June 23rd return to one of the best little Sacramento Valley venues, The Palms in Winters, Ca.   At the beginning of July (5th) RR & DRK do a show for the town of Windsor, also in the wine country - then they go up to Bend, Oregon to The Sound Garden (7th); then to the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon to open for our good friend Steve Miller (8th).  The band is really looking forward to the San Juan Islands run after that, performing in community theaters on Friday Harbor (13th); EastSound (14th) and Lopez Island on the 15th.

As always, bring your dancing shoes and kick up some Summer dust! :)  See you there!!
