Anteloup delivered a storming set at this year's Oxjam Beeston Takeover music festival. After having had their slot moved back, due to time issues with sister band Middle:6, the later 8.50pm start seemed to give the band more of a lift.
"It was great to go on a bit later this year," says frontman Luis. "The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant, and the crowd really got into what we were playing. The response to our opening number [Think Of Love] was mind-blowing, with the whoops and cheers really giving us a strong footing for the rest of the gig."
As the band have a such a varied genre of material, the set-list took a pop-to-rock route; starting with foot-tappers like Think Of Love and Woman In The Blue Shoes, through We've All Been There and finishing with Frozen Turkey and Jodie.
"Frozen Turkey was possibly my favourite number of the gig. What started as a simple American Rock song some years ago has grown into a great band song, with an intro and massive 32-bar outro featuring Pete's monster guitar solo. It was a real crowd pleaser and we should have a video up on the site soon."
Thanks to the Oxjam response, Anteloup are now planning a few free gigs in the run-up to Christmas, with proceeds going to Oxfam and other charities. For up-to-date band and gig information sign up to the mailing list and follow the band on Twitter.
