Yep, Boss has just added a new track, or more precisely a pre-mix of the song Anniversary. It's a full version of an early incarnation of the song, with a bass line that was later subtracted, synth parts you wouldn't have heard on the album and a modest mix that makes Boss want to premix the whole album!
At the top of the playlist now at thegreatgrandrapids.com.

Ok, maybe this is not real news, but it is news.
This is our first web site so it is a work in progress. Come back often to see what has changed, where we are playing, and to add your name to our growing list of contacts.
We encourage you to put your name on our mailing list so we can tell you where next we play! Since we are mainly a live band, we are grateful that you have come to see us play live. As we start putting our music on CD, we will want to be able totell you how you can get your copy.
So, that's all we have for now. Click on the "Shows" link to see our play dates.
Thank you.
The debut US release by our favorite tropicalia/garage outfit, Garotas Suecas, has finally arrived.
If you happened to catch the band at one of their SXSW performances you may have already found yourself walking out of a dank, Austin club clutching one of these hot pink pieces of goodness pictured below. Until now that would be the only instance in which you'd find yourself in possession of one. That's all changed.
The young Brazilian group's 7" single won't be available in stores until the first week of April, but you can purchase it right here through your trusted American Dust website and we'll ship it out immediately. Think of your jealous friends and their jealous faces! Envy!

The Carrie Brownstein endorsed band is still in the midst of their US mini tour, so be sure to catch them when they come to your town.
Last night was hands down the best show of the acoustic residency so far. Andrew from Queen Kwong sat in on drums for us and it made all the difference. Grace and Manners played a tight set, and we were joined at the end of the night by Matt Bain (Eve6) and his new project, The Sequel. They're playing The Fold in Silverlake tonight (3/25) at 7:15, be sure to check them out.
Next week is the last show of the residency. If you're in the LA area be sure to come by. We'll be on at 10, stick around for the all-band collaboration.

No it's not the opening line of a bad joke. While running around Canadian Music Fest the day after our showcase I learned about this site where people can download songs in various digital formats - and the choice is completely theirs!
That seems like something no one else is doing so I thought I'd give it a try and set up a page where you can grab it for free.

The Ras Gong Guerrilla EP |
On the opening track of his ninth solo album, Gods and Goddesses, Brant Bjork sings, “What you’re hearing is exactly what was heard, yeah.” The former Kyuss and Fu Manchu drummer and songwriting force behind the short-lived Ché project isn’t wrong either; like each of his records since 1999’s debut, Jalamanta, Gods and Goddesses has a righteously natural feel. As ever, they sound like solo material, as in, they feel written by one person — which I never saw as a problem — but Brant (and here I’ll veer from my usual last-name-only method to save anyone being confused as to of whom we’re speaking) has adopted a methodology for coping with that. He’s put a new band together.
For those who’ve followed Brant Bjork’s career as an independent solo artist (and if you haven’t, you’ve missed some very exciting records; Jalamanta,Keep Your Cool, Local Angel, Tres Dias and its companion piece Somera Sol among them), the immediate difference you’re going to notice with Gods and Goddesses is the upswing in production value. Like most of his records, he’s releasing this one himself — through the still relatively new incarnation of Duna Records called Low Desert Punk — but he’s chosen to work with producer Ethan Allen (The 88, Luscious Jackson), and in so doing has added an air not necessarily of professionalism to his sound since if you’re not professional-sounding nine albums in, you shouldn’t be doing this, but definitely one of fulfillment. Tracks like the dune-ready “The Future Rock (We Got It),” the elaborately constructed “Radio Mecca” — on which Brant seems to be doing a vocal call and response with himself — and the later, more ethereal “Porto” sound complete and fully realized.

Got St Patrick's Day plans that DON'T involve passing out before 10pm? Good...because this Wednesday the 17th our acoustic residency continues with performances from us, Grace and Manners, and Queen Kwong.
We'll be peforming a song from some Irish guys you'll be sure to recognize, and the G &M boys may have a trick up their sleeve as well. We're happy to have Carre back to perform this week, well rested and back from NYC.
As ever, it's a free show and the Guinness shall pour....

Chaos Asylum will join Blitzkrieg, Vendetta, and Beyond The Grave at the O2 Academy in Newcastle on July 10th 2010.
Chaos Asylum look forward to showcasing some brand new songs.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers!

The symmetry between Farnedi, Cordell, and Bjork shine through on the menacing “Little World,” a track that takes the listener all the way from Radiohead at their hardest, through the hypnotic, one-chord North Mississippi Hill Country blues of Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside.

New Album “Gods & Goddesses”
coming March 26 Europe & March 30 US
Free download of “THE FUTURE ROCK”
available now exclusively at VANS.com
Rock artist Brant Bjork, returns with his ninth Low Desert Punk album, Gods & Goddesses on March 26 in Europe (Cargo Records Germany) and March 30 US (Cobraside). The official first single, the intoxicating “THE FUTURE ROCK” impacts the internet the week of March 9, with a video to follow shortly exclusively on tour sponsor VANS.com
Gods & Goddesses pairs Brant Bjork, originating from Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Ch’e with producer Ethan Allen, best known for his work with Tricky, Luscious Jackson, Gram Rabbit and The 88 and former tour mate, Billy Cordell of the acclaimed Yawning Man. The Los Angeles based desert-founded rock band—vocalist/guitarist Brant Bjork, guitarist Billy Cordell, bassist Brandon Henderson and Italian drummer Giampaolo Farnedi—recorded Gods & Goddesses in Los Angeles in late 2009.
The album follows 2008’s “Punk Rock Guilt,” which experienced a career high for the group, which acquired endless reviews in both 2008 and 2009 and with steady worldwide digital downloads. His 2007 release “Somera Sol” and “Tres Dias” have sold fans worldwide. Since, those releases have continued to rock audiences worldwide in both foreign and domestic territories and at Roadburn and Maximum festivals.
Eager to get new music into their fans’ hands as quickly as possible, Brant Bjork is offering Gods & Goddesses album track THE FUTURE ROCK as a free download for a limited time exclusively at VANS.com
The electrifying live band starts a headlining European tour on March 26. Stops for the festival veterans include Maximum and Roadburn….International festival highlights include the international release date of Gods & Goddesses on March 26.

Ramblin' Jack Elliott makes a rare appearance in Florida this week end to do a guest appearance for his dear friend Stetson Kennedy, 93 years young (!), for his Southern Exposure Festival. It is a benefit for Stetson's foundation.
Please look Mr. Kennedy up - an extraordinary human being, civil rights worker, and author who was/is a close friend of Jack's and Woody Guthrie.
Joining Ramblin' Jack will be Arlo Guthrie and the entire Guthrie clan - should be a very special event!

Messengers of Funk Deliver Musical Mutiny
Coming up on top in Hamilton’s Battle of the Bands, the Hammer’s favorite funkateers move on to battle it out in Toronto. “Musical Mutiny Battle of the Bands” in support of War Child Canada Benefit will take place on Thursday March 18, 2010 @ 7:30pm, at the Horseshoe Tavern. The following evening, hopefully coming off another win, the boys will share the stage with battle competitors “One Flew West”, as well as “Marco Fiesta” at their highly anticipated show at Clinton’s. It comes as no surprise that the band’s ever growing fan base drove the band to victory. The tremendous support of the fans only pushes the band to produce better and bigger sounds to return the love.
Come Thursday night, the band is set to play songs off their new album. Fans can expect to hear favorites: “Daily Operations”, “Oberon”, and “Back to Georgia” off of the 2009 EP “5 Cents Short of a Dollar”. That’s not all though. The boys, always bringing something new, have a few surprises in store. You’ll have to attend the benefit to get the full ESRB experience. Band member Craig Johnston speaks on the upcoming Battle of the Bands performance:
“Opportunities to play for new audiences as well as a great cause don’t come too often. I think the audience will be surprised with our new sounds, we’ve grown a lot and been inspired by new rhythms. I think the show will be a great way to gain exposure, and to broaden our fan base.”
As part of their successful finale at the Hamilton show, look for the band’s biography featured in NOW Magazine sometime next week. The band also received free studio time, which they will put towards their next album.
One thing is for sure, this band is the real deal. Their sound compels immediate interest, and they waste no time drawing in new listeners. And most significantly, securing private gigs has not deterred the band from the importance of playing benefit shows. Since the beginning, dating five years back; singer Matt Morgan has strived to inspire movement through sound, in more ways than one. As Bob Marley once sang, every little action springs a reaction.
War Child is an internationally recognized cause, but you don’t need to go any further than the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto to do your part. Also, no where else in the world has the ESRB, this is an exclusive slice, not to be missed!
